Revenue

An overview on how well you’re clinic or each individual Practitioner is performing. You can compare revenue generating performance with other practitioners, or identify how reliant your clinic’s overall revenue is on an individual.

How it’s Calculated:
Total amount of paid invoices, displayed by practitioner, or added together for all practitioners (total for the clinic) in the selected period of time.

Useful for:

  • Evaluating Revenue and Performance
  • Identifying your revenue generating Practitioners – can others learn from your “stars”, do they adopt a Practitioner’s better patient skills, or can you make better use of them?

Further Insight:

  • Revenue Per Appointment – some practitioners work longer than others, so to adjust for this try looking at Revenue Per Appointment and see if the same practitioners come out top or bottom.
  • Revenue by Treatment Type – different treatments have different prices. If some practitioners are carrying out, for example Ultracel only, it’s tough to compare them to others who are doing Laser Hair Removal only. Make sure you’re comparing apples with apples!

Questions to ask yourself:

Is monthly revenue where I expect it to be?
In the bank!.. Joking aside, if you’re not generating enough revenue check your Appointment numbers for the same period, as well as Spend per Patient. Try to identify the factor which caused the drop – was an indivdual under performing, or on leave? Identifying the cause will help you formulate a solution – be it pushing for more Appointments, or increasing cross selling of products.
Is monthly revenue on the whole increasing?
Ideally an upward trend, but don’t get upset if the odd month levels off or even drops, so long as the overall trend is increasing. If not, identify the factors as to why not – are Patients spending less, coming less frequently, or are you performing less expensive treatments?
Am I too reliant on one Practitioner?
It is very useful to identify your top performing Practitioners, so that you can plan future strategies to maximise their potential, and incentivise them to continue performing. Realising their worth to your buisness can help you avoid financial difficulties should they leave, by making plans to avoid that possibility.
